It's Time to Roleplay!
Well, it's always time to roleplay – but what better way to jump into the fun with your character than through a roleplay prompt?

Welcome to another Weekly Prompt! Whether you're itching for something to do, are seeking creative inspiration, want something to get you started before you continue to write or are simply in the mood for some fun, the weekly prompt is there for you to enjoy as you need it – even if your character doesn't always love the things we have in store for them >:D

What can you expect? ↓

If you've not done this before, here are the basics:
  1. Every week, a new roleplay prompt is posted on the Event Board for you to participate in with your character.
  2. The prompt will generally be a situation which you can interpret based on what would be realistic for your character and, from there, explore to your heart’s content.
  3. For your response to be counted, you'll need to have your character interact with the prompt in some way. You devise the specifics.
  4. Your response can be set in the past or the present; just make sure to mention when it's set for wallposts, or follow the RPG participation requirements for threads (Roleplaying Guide).
  5. If you write a wallpost, you can choose for your prompt response to be non-canon for your character, so long as you state that somewhere in the post.
  6. For help/questions relating to the prompt, please contact Kaishi Yul-Khaan. For help/questions relating to roleplay, please contact a Guard.
  7. You can find this week's prompt at the bottom of this post!

Responding to the Prompt ↓

To successfully complete the prompt, you can:
  • incorporate it into your character's backstory
  • write it into an individual roleplay post
  • post a self-contained written piece on your wall
  • write a roleplay piece for your eyes only*
  • write it into a task, where fitting and in line with the task’s requirements
  • create a new roleplay thread which incorporates the concept, noting that:
    • depending on the prompt, every participant does not need to personally experience the situation if you create a roleplay thread, so long as they interact with it (for example, Person A receives an ominous letter, and Person B reacts to it).
    • the prompt response will only be counted once it has been directly addressed in roleplay posts.
  • use another method, if one comes to mind (just double check with Kaishi if in doubt)
or simply follow whichever approach makes you want to write the most! The central imperative thing is that the prompt is included in roleplay with your character in some way. From there, you can get as creative as you like.

All done? ↓

Once you've completed the weekly prompt, comment on this post to share that you've done so and let us know where it can be found! Remember to paste a link or share the forum and title if it's somewhere like a roleplay thread. (If it's a piece you don't want to publish yet, you can send it to Kai privately and that will also count!)

Participation will earn you rewards in thanks – and, if you manage to complete every prompt throughout the IG year (Frost Moon through to Lantern Moon 27 II), you’ll earn an exclusive item which can’t be obtained through any other means! What’s more: we hear it can cause a little bit of mischief around the site, in the right (or wrong) hands …

You can do this for previous weeks' prompts, too, which you can return to at any time! Again, just comment on the posts to ensure they count, unless you've already sent a letter to record your prompt response.

You can also complete any of the prompts more than once, with as many of your characters as you like – whoever you're inspired for!
